DOBERMAN Begins Building Underground Shelter in Children's Hospital

DOBERMAN has started the active phase of constructing an underground shelter at the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital in Kharkiv. This is a strategic step to ensure the safety of children, their parents and medical staff during the war for Ukraine's independence.

"First and foremost, this is about safety. The hospital continues to operate daily, admitting patients and performing surgeries. Having a modern shelter will allow the treatment process to continue without interruption even during air raid alerts," the company said.

About the Project

The new shelter is designed to accommodate more than 500 people at once. The project is being implemented with accessibility principles in mind, ensuring access for patients with reduced mobility, parents with strollers, and all hospital staff.

Construction is being carried out in stages, so it will not affect the functioning of the medical facility. All patients will continue to receive timely and full care.

Comprehensive Approach to Hospital Development

In parallel with the shelter construction, other important works are ongoing at the hospital. The emergency diagnostic department is being reconstructed, and major repairs are underway for the future psychiatric department, which did not exist in the hospital before.

With the support of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska Foundation, the renovated departments will receive modern equipment for quality diagnostics and patient examinations. This will bring pediatric care to a new level.

Support and Next Steps

The project implementation became possible thanks to effective cooperation with the Office of the President, the Government and Members of Parliament. DOBERMAN expresses gratitude for the systematic support of medical initiatives in the region.

The next stage is completing the underground part, further equipping the shelter, and putting it into operation so that patients and staff receive reliable protection as soon as possible.
